In MD, NBCT's get $7,000 from the state and then an additional $10,000 if at a low-performing school!

32:25
Love the scholarships

32:31
My district Lansing SD 158, Illinois has $2500 increase in salary. It is one time but does compound annually with salary.

33:04
In Los Angeles USD, 7 1/2% raise, and can earn an additional 7 1/2% by providing support up to 92 hours (mentor, grants, leadership).

33:12
Illinois also has stipends for NBCTs for both initial and MOC.

33:25

44:38
My district gives a $1000 stipend to each of our 3 NBCTs. I had to convince the district to do it when I first certified in 2010 since I was the first and they did not understand the significance. I have not been successful in getting an incremental increase (like all other stipends), but I have tried.

44:47

Great job!

56:31
I plan to invite school board members to my school and class. I attend school board meetings virtually since I was unable to drive and live in a very rural area on the Navajo Nation. I was dismayed to hear that when my school invited members to our school promotion, our local member stated she did not know where our middle school wasā¦that seriously need to change. This past year, my administration did not offer a single opportunity for parents to attend a meeting to develop a collaborative effort to address studentsā needs. That also needs to change.

01:04:08
Yes, Wisconsin provides a $2000 stipend for the cost of pursuing boards AND an additional yearly stipend of $2500 or $5000 (Low Income Districts)

01:04:19
I have seen several teachers who would like to earn NBCT status but feel they lack support. My advice is to look at the NBPTS directory and reach out to NBCT. It will get you started.

01:04:19
Thanks for checking about badges...I know I saw an email at some point

Texas has a wonderful incentive for National Board teachers. It is part of the Teacher Incentive Allotment.

01:05:16
I'm looking at it now--did MOC last year so I did update

01:05:20
Even if your state doesn't incentivize board certification, you may encourage your local education association to negotiate motion on the salary guide for board certification.
