My district gives a $1000 stipend to each of our 3 NBCTs. I had to convince the district to do it when I first certified in 2010 since I was the first and they did not understand the significance. I have not been successful in getting an incremental increase (like all other stipends), but I have tried.

I was dismayed to hear that when my school invited members to our school promotion, our local member stated she did not know where our middle school wasā¦that seriously need to change. I have seen several teachers who would like to earn NBCT status but feel they lack support. My advice is to look at the NBPTS directory and reach out to NBCT. It will get you started.
